In 2025, we proudly commemorate 50 years of Aqua Diving Services (ADS). As we celebrate this milestone, it’s humbling to reflect on the journey that our founder, Clive Frost, embarked upon during a very different time in the UAE’s history.
Driven by his passion for diving and belief in the untapped potential of a then little-known emirate, Clive, a young diver at the time, established ADS in Sharjah in 1975. His bold risk paid off, with his ambitious vision evolving into a cornerstone of the region’s marine industry over the past 50 years.
Clive sadly passed away in 2020, but his legacy continues with the involvement of his children in the continuation of what remains a family business, and the loyal support and continued efforts of our diving operations manager and a large team with a long and storied track record in the company.
Our 50-year journey is defined by the strong relationships we've built within the industry over the years. Many of our original clients remain with us today – a testament to the trust we’ve earned and the quality of our work. This support has allowed us to remain independent in a competitive market. We take pride in continuing to offer cost-effective, practical solutions by combining our unparalleled local knowledge and experience with the highest international industry standards.
Our operations
Aqua Diving Services is headquartered in Dubai, with fully serviced equipment housed at our Al Quoz facility. We also have offices in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
WHAT WE DO
We offer a comprehensive range of subsea services, including diving operations, class surveys, vessel inspections, repairs and maintenance, port and harbour services, pipeline maintenance and repairs, rig inspections, decompression therapy, hull cleaning, propeller polishing and equipment hire, all designed to meet the diverse needs of our clients.
CIVIL AND OILFIELD
DIVING
Our experienced divers are present on every job, ensuring all diving operations comply with the highest industry standards and regulations, maintaining strict safety and performance benchmarks across all activities.
INSPECTIONS,
REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE
An industry leader in vessel inspections, we offer comprehensive pipeline and subsea structure inspections. Equipped with purpose-built tools and supported by our skilled diving team, we also provide marina and harbour repairs.
HULL
CLEANING
Our hull-cleaning machine is capable of removing mild or tenacious hull fouling from a variety of coatings, including low surface energy coatings
used on military and commercial vessels, resulting in better speed, fuel consumption and performance.
PORT AND
HARBOUR SERVICES
We specialise in the construction, repair, renewal and maintenance of quay walls, jetties, buoys, pumping stations, seawater intakes, harbour infrastructure, bridges, lighting navigation aids, marinas and anode replacement.
UNDERWATER
CONSTRUCTION
Our teams handle a range of activities, including underwater welding, cutting, concrete and anode placement, and cofferdam installation. Every job is carried out with precision, safety and compliance to marine construction standards.
SUBSEA
INSTALLATIONS
Our scope includes, but is not limited to, subsea cable installations, flexible pipeline installations, the fabrication and installation of subsea spools and tie-ins, riser and riser clamp installations and other essential support systems.
CLASS
SURVEYS
We perform class-approved vessel inspections, including photo, video, ultrasonic, Eddy current and magnetic particle inspections. Our expert teams are certified to conduct surveys for ABS, Bureau Veritas, DNV GL and Germanischer Lloyd.
MARINE
SALVAGE
We recover sunken equipment of all sizes, including dockyard cranes, aircraft, vehicles and statues. Our experienced team safely salvages and refloats items with precision, planning and the right mix of expertise and equipment.
UNDERWATER TRENCHING
AND CABLE BURIAL
Using the Otter – a self-propelled underwater trenching vehicle – we lay and bury cables up to two metres deep. Divers monitor and assist throughout, removing obstacles and adjusting cable depressors to ensure consistent trench depth at up to 50 metres.
UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY
AND VIDEOGRAPHY
We capture high-quality images, slides and video using specialised underwater photography systems. Our visuals support documentation, inspection and promotional needs with sharp, detailed outputs tailored to client and industry requirements.
